Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Reveal
This article will tell you everything you need to know about the new Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 has finally been revealed! We advise you watch the trailers throughout this article to get you as pumped as we are about this game! Call of Duty: WWII wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but in my opinion, Black Ops 3 was an incredible game.
So Treyarch and Activision have been working hard on this years title. From what they produced with Black Ops 3, it is expected that this game will be a pelter! But there have been some rumours spreading around about no campaign! Well today this has been settled and there is not a single player story to follow! Instead they have focused on a popular game mode at the present time, Battle Royale, the same game type and Player Unknown’s Battleground (PUBG) and the very popular Fortnite.
Treyarch co-studio head Dan Bunting comments on a question about there being a traditional campaign.
“There was never a traditional campaign. We’ve always wanted to tell stories in different ways. We’ve always wanted to celebrate our community, especially how you play the game with friends. The heart and soul of this game is how you play games with friends and we wanted to do more with that than we’ve ever done before.”
Start by watching this official multiplayer reveal. It has a modern/slightly futuristic vibe, similar to Black Ops 3 (BO3). They’ve included a feature where you can always be using your gun whilst using scorestreaks, throwing grenades, and other actions that would usually, from previous games, make your player lower their gun. In my opinion this speeds up the gameplay unlike WWII.
The aim of this game was to create an experience like BO3 where there is a fast paced game. WWII was a big change when it came to gameplay speed. With the use of thrusts and slides in BO3 and Advanced Warfare making for a match which had players rushing from spawn point to spawn point trying to maximise their Kill Death Ratio (KD).
Boots on the Ground
They’ve stuck to boots on the ground for BO4 but keeping the momentum that came with the previous titles. As shown in the reveal, you can see how the players are moving fast, using sliding and other various mechanics to increase mobility. This, I feel, will be appealing to the majority of players that prefer a game where there is non stop action.
As with every COD title that has been released since Call of Duty: World at War, the newest arrival for sure includes a Zombies mode. Two trailers have been released to tease you about the storyline within the multiplayer game type.
For those of you that are unfamiliar with Zombies, you start in an enclosed area with up to three other team mates where you will have to fight for survival. Earning points by damaging the enemy that you can spend to buy guns stored on walls, open doors to various areas around the map, and spend on the infamous Mystery Box. The Mystery box costs usually around 1000 points and will give you a random gun which you can choose to swap out or leave to fall back into the box.
This game mode is structured with waves or rounds. Each wave will have an increased amount of Zombies to slay, although they don’t have the same defences as the previous round. They get increasingly stronger as each wave arrives.
Each Zombies has a storyline which can be followed with hidden switches and steps to follow before you unlock the Pack-a-punch machine, or to engage in a boss fight. Can you wait to jump into this game mode? Which round do you reckon you can reach with your best set of team mates?
Blackout – Battle Royale
Activision must have liked the look of where PUBG and Fortnite are headed. So they’ve decided to jump onto the band wagon and create their own take on the Battle Royale game type. This game mode will be set in “The biggest map they’ve ever developed” which is approximately “1500x the size of Nuke Town”. Big, right?
Land, Sea, Air Vehicles
This Battle Royale, unlike one other popular title, will include vehicles. Not just land and sea like PUBG, but Air also. There are hints towards vehicular weapons, such as a gunner in a helicopter. This may be a completely different tactic to Battle Royale as we haven’t seen air vehicles in either Fortnite or PUBG.
We are unsure about the amount of players that will be in a game of Blackout, but by reading various articles and watching many videos, may own speculation leads towards a definite 100+ player game, allowing for full use of the map and vehicles.
The release date for BO4 is Friday 12th October 2018. You better book your day off work, or rush home from school to jump onto this incredible game. There will be a private beta if you pre-order the game, but there are not details about when the beta will start.
