Fortnite Playground LTM V1 NEED TO KNOW

Fortnite Battle Royale Playground LTM

This post will give you all the information you need to know about the new Playground LTM (Limited Time Mode).

Basics

We’ll give you the simple explanation of what the Playground mode is. This new mode is essentially your own private island where you and 3 other friends can mess about, perfect your aim, or practice building. There will be no other players around to spoil your learning development or fun for that matter.

Below we list the main factors of the new LTM (Limited Time Mode) and we give you some ideas as to how this mode can help you and even some ideas that you can enjoy trying yourself!

Materials

Ever felt like you’ve not got the time to collect the resources needed to practice building because those ignorant players don’t understand what you’re doing?

Fear no further. The Playground LTM allows you to collect the materials you need. You will not be running out of merials any time soon. They have added a x10 multiplier to the materials gathered, meaning a regular tree which gives you roughly 30 wood, will now give you 300.

If you’re looking to improve your building, collect as many materials as you can, 999 wood, 999 stone, and 999 metal. We then suggest that you take a look at our Building Offensively and our Builder Pro Controller Layout post. You may learn something that you didn’t know before.

Time Limit

This mode does have a time limit on it. You get 60 minutes until the game ends, this is broken down into 55 minutes playtime, followed by 5 minutes of running from the storm! Of course you aren’t stuck in the game against your will, you may leave the game at any point. Because if you die, you respawn.

Respawn

Respawn, the one thing that Battle Royale should not have, is embedded within this game mode. If you die, you are sent back up into the sky, and plummet down onto the island once again. This allows you to keep working on your architect projects, get back at that friend that just slaughtered you, or check a different area in search of that one weapon you are looking for.

Friendly Fire

FRIENDLY FIRE IS ON! Be pest and kill your mates, or practice your aim with a sniper rifle, the bullet drop and lead can be tricky to get down. This could give you the opportunity to improve how you fight in a one-on-one situation:

  • Pair up with a mate
  • Grab your weapons
  • Grab your materials
  • Pick a starting point
  • and FIGHT!

Depending on how forgiving your opponent is, if they are better than you, you should be able to improve your fast building, edits, aim and even getaway skills. As a learning tool, we suggest another method of this training.

Do exactly the same as above, but take it in turns to hold a “non-fire” position. One player does not use any weapons to try and harm your opponent, whilst the other has full use of all equipment. Once a player dies, switch role.

Chests & Ammo Boxes

Chests and Ammo Boxes have a 100% spawn rate. This means that all chests and all ammo boxes will always spawn in all of their placements. You can have a look around the map and try to remember the locations of chests, if you like a particular area, keep dropping to it and keep searching. Repetition is how we learn, the more we do it, the better we get at it.

Llamas

Everyone loves a llama, right? Three colourful piñatas can be found in any normal game of Fortnite Battle Royale. Unlike chests and ammo boxes, they can be found anywhere on the map, and I mean anywhere! I’ve found them on top of buildings, in tree’s, poking their heads out of the water. They can be ANYWHERE! This leaves you with a slim chance of finding one every game. Some of you may not have ever found one! There will be 100 spawned llamas in the Playground LTM mode. Jump into a game of Playground LTM and see if you can find a llama.

Epic Games successfully updated Fortnite to include the Playground LTM game mode on 27/06/2018, starting game downtime at 08:00 GMT, but have since taken down the mode due to bugs. We hope it is up and running soon so you can enjoy your playtime!
